The format for the reading bowls will be either in-person or virtual. Each local and regional committee will choose whether to compete in-person or virtual. 

Helen Ruffin Picturebook Reading Bowl (Grades K-3) - All Regions

• Local Helen Ruffin Picturebook Reading Bowl  — October 19 or 26, 2024 (Check with Local Coordinator to confirm date) (Format determined at local level)

• Regional and State Helen Ruffin Picturebook Reading Bowl (All Regions) — November 16, 2024 (Virtual Format Using Zoom)

Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl (Grades 4-5, 6-8, 9-12)

• Local Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl — January 18 or 25, 2025 (Check with Local Coordinator for date and location) (Format determined at local level)

• Regional Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl

• East Region HRRB — February 8, 2025 — (in-person format)

• North Region HRRB — February 8 or 15, 2025 — date, location, and format to be announced

• Metro Region HRRB — February 8, 2025, 9am to 1pm, Clayton State University (in-person format)

• Middle Region HRRB — February 8 or 15, 2025 — date, location, and format to be announced

• South Region HRRB — February 15, 2025 — 1pm start time, Valdosta State University (in-person format)

• West Region HRRB — February 15, 2025, 10am to 2pm, University of West Georgia (in-person format)
